Augmented Sound Waves

Onur Yuksel

I want to design a spacey-dreamy conversational experience, through two headphone pieces and some lights, where each of the head pieces would be connected to an augmented sound tool which alters the sound input of the environment.

Full description of the concept

Augmenting/altering the sound that we hear, may give us a kind of experience that is unusual, weird, dreamy.

The idea is to create two head pieces, turning two actual headphones to magical ones, and connect them to an augmented sound application, in order to maintain a conversation between two people, with altered sound output. The augmented sound app is sort of giving a space-filter to the sound input; your voice, and the voice of the environment, people around.

Im thinking of designing a wooden box where headphone pieces will come out. Inside the box there will be mobile devices and a power cord input for keeping the devices charged.

To give a visual layer to the dream, I'm thinking of using Sequential Wave Imprinting Machine to imitate sound wave visuals.

About the group/Artist

Onur likes to play around with augmented sound.

How can other burners co-create with you?

Yes, that would be great!

What is this?

Congratulations! You've stumbled upon something special. Urban Burn Stockholm is a platform that allows you to share your dreams.

  • Do you need electricity from the grid? How much in Watts? Yes, 50 watts

  • Will there be light? I will try to get a Sequential Wave Imprinting Machine, otherwise I will use leds between headpieces!

  • Will anything burn? Nope.

  • What is your audio footprint? The sound output will be through the headphones. So no.
